Can I build my own Linux based Synchromesh system? PDF Print E-mail

Yes, of course. Our Linux DDR solution is based on open source system components we've customized, and you can download and customize them and customize the system just as we did. The notable components we're using are:

  • Arch Linux - a small fast distro that we could make a bullet-proof version of, and develop on
  • Libquicktime - a library to open Quicktime movies on Linux. It's based on the Quicktime4Linux code
  • FFMPEG - provides some extra codecs
  • LibPNG, and LibJpeg for other codecs
  • Nvidia driver and utilities

Note that each of the above components may also have dependencies that you will need to install as well. Remember that the exact mix of driver and OS versions is something we tailor and test, and each Synchromesh version is tuned to a specific set. We can't provide the same level of tech support and troubleshooting as with our heavily tested systems, but we'll do our best.

What would be missing is the Synchromesh software itself, and that's protected with a USB key. You would need to buy a system and relocate the key to access that.
