Synchromesh DDRThe Synchromesh DDR is a turn-key upgrade from an HD VTR or DDR. It runs a show hardened Linux system, boots fast and plays Quicktime movies using a wide range of codecs, or records to a removable SATA hard disk

Turbine

Turbine

Turbine image

Synchromesh Turbine is our 'mini' solution. It's a small, rugged package, but plays out mildly compressed video with the quality and flexibility of it's older brother, the Synchromesh DDR. Turbine works on MeshNet, can play in sync with other units, and receives all it's commands from other units or MeshShift, or external control (TCP/IP).

Turbine  offers the power of Synchromesh playback, with less footprint in your machine room - and wallet! Team it with DDRs or Octane to get the most power.

Octane

Octane

Synchromesh TurbineSynchromesh Octane turns an ordinary computer - or an extraordinary one, you choose - into am HD capable recording station. Record video, transcode and compress on the fly, and if you have a Mesh, automatically share the files with all units at startling speed. Currently supports Macs with OS X Leopard.
Octane also works as a single channel player to review content, or play to a single destination.

Spark

Spark

Synchromesh SparkSynchromesh Spark is a software application to run fullscreen video on a single computer with transitions and simple but powerful clip lists - replacing DVD, VTR or DDR playback

MeshShift

MeshShift is an easy to use application you can install on a computer of your choice to control Synchromesh channels (excepting Spark). MeshShift mimics the appearance of the Synchromesh DDR front panel, so there's nothing else to learn, and it can access the full power of the system: controlling any channel, changing settings, importing and exporting media

Utilities

Every Synchromesh DDR includes a Utility app that can quickly boot into a simple environment to offer basic system repair and configuration utilties, such as RAID drive formatting, or system upgrades

Internal Transitions PDF Print E-mail

Each Synchromesh unit plays back one or more tracks, and in each of those tracks has two sides - next and current. When one clip is playing, another clip can be pre-cued cleanly and made ready to play. On cue, all Synchromesh channels can cleanly transition to the pre-loaded next clip.

The default video transition is a dissolve (with a hand-tuned fade curve), and for audio, a cross-fade. Other transitions can be loaded in as MeshScripts, including complex 3D flips or alpha channel transitions.

Transitions are carried out at full frame rate, in exact sync between units.

Remote PDF Print E-mail

Synchromesh can be triggered from a user panel or from various remote methods. If there are multiple channels in a 'mesh' then any number can be controlled from any interface method.

Each Synchromesh unit will allow a remote TCP/IP connection and present a MeshScript terminal. MeshScript is a simple 'English-like' scripting languages, so the user can enter commands such as playClip(); simply by typing them, but can also send complete scripts, using complex logic, variables, and queries.

Each Synchromesh unit can also allow up to 4 'protocol' connections, into which a pre-defined MeshScript script is loaded. These scripts, supplied by us or the community or you can make Synchromesh respond to any standard protocol, such as Betacam, Midi Show Control or even DMX (via ArtNet, for example). When bridged to serial ports or other interfaces, they extend the control options considerably. Note that you can adjust a protocol to control any number of channels.

For the Synchromesh operator, we provide MeshShift, an application that can be run on Mac, Windows or Linux and provides an external panel to your Synchromesh system. It also allows importing of media (to a Pro channel, and from there onto the whole mesh) and manipulation of MeshScripts and all settings. Using MeshShift, you never need to touch other Synchromesh channels.

Timecode Support PDF Print E-mail

Every clip that Synchromesh plays back has an associated timecode that will be played out with it. This is defined in the clip settings. It can be set from the media, if timecode is included, and is automatically used for clips recorded from video.

The timecode is shown on the user interface, is available on the remote ports, is output from a dedicated connector on the DDR, and can be patched to an audio channel otherwise. The outputs are standard LTC, in EBU or SMPTE (DF or NDF) format, depending on the video format of the track being displayed.

Timecode can also be overlaid on any video output.

MeshNet PDF Print E-mail

Synchromesh channels will automatically network together and share control and media as needed (networking disabled in Spark products). The MeshNet will run at the fastest speed available, preferably gigabit (1000 base-T) Ethernet and is treated as a video backbone, with video being transferred at the absolute maximum speed at all times. Synchromesh control and admin commands can co-exist happily, but any other traffic should be kept well clear.

Meanwhile, each Synchromesh channel will quite happily attach to another network. You can use this to import files from a computer, to get or send files to a remote Synchromesh unit, such as in an edit suite, or to control Synchromesh playback.

Overview PDF Print E-mail

Synchromesh offers a range of playback solutions, all using the same core technology. Our systems play back digital video, and using the power of distinct graphical processing units (GPUs) perform high quality up-scaling, transitions and color correction without taxing the CPU.

Depending on configuration, we can playback uncompressed video, clips with mastering quality compression, or efficiently compressed files, as you need. Our DDR product uses a built-in high speed disk array (with parity-based data safety) to smoothly playback even 10-bit HD video.

Pro models will also capture video and recompress it as needed as it is transferred to your playback units. And to many, that's the real power of Synchromesh players - it automatically networks together and shares video files at stunning speed, so your time from 'here's my clip' to playing it on any number of screens is faster than even your most demanding clients should demand.

Synchromesh offers a range of digital playback solutions for event or installation use, using cutting edge GPU-based video processing.
